Abstract Increasing the Main Injector beam power above ∼ 1.2 MW requires replacement of 8 GeV Booster by a higher intensity alternative. In this paper, we consider an linac that produces H - for injection into Recycler Ring or Injector. This upgrade will maximize available neutrino production long baseline DUNE experiment to greater than 2.5 and enable next generation frontier experiments. The takes 1 from PIP-II Linac accelerates it 2 in 650 MHz superconducting RF linac, followed pulsed using 1300 cryomodules. components incorporate recent improvements technology. configuration dynamics requirements are presented.
